OUR STORY

Protecting Nature,
Empowering communities,
Preserving earth.

For over 35 years, SAADOW has pioneered community-led conservation across the ancient forests of Tamil Nadu. We bridge the gap between wildlife survival and rural economic resilience by training local youth as Habitat Guardians and establishing women-led, solar-powered green enterprises.

ABOUT US

Protecting Nature,
Supporting Peoples

The Landscape & Species Profile

Karanthamalai & Mundamalai Hills

The fragmented hills of the Eastern Ghats in Dindigul are critical biological refuges. However, illegal quarrying, habitat loss, and climate change threaten to isolate their unique wildlife. SAADOW works on the frontlines to protect two flagship species.

01 · NOCTURNAL PRIMATE

Grey Slender Loris

Loris lydekkerianus

STATUS: ENDANGERED

Our youth network tracks nesting sites and maps canopy connectivity to prevent genetic isolation in dwindled forest patches.

Indian Pangolin

Manis crassicaudata

STATUS: THE WORLD'S MOST HEAVILY TRAFFICKED MAMMAL

We monitor burrow activity, maintain an active anti-poaching network, and liaise directly with forest authorities against illegal land conversion.
